Sunday School

Sunday school began in 1925 Ms.Mary Stehlin was also instrumental in starting the Sunday school following the example of her country  she desired that children in India too should know the word of God at a tender age. Keeping in mind moral spiritual and overall development of the children Ms.Stehlin introduced small stories from the Bible, Skits, Plays and action song verses from the Bible during a stipulated time every Sunday. The early years had 24 teachers dedicated for the well being and development of nearly 250 children of the church. The Sunday School now 400 children’s and 40 teachers. Since there was no separate building, Sunday school was conducted at town school Hosur. In 1963 a separate building was constructed to run the Sunday school. The children were now assigned to different classes with a proper syllabus. The Sunday school which has progressed through the ages has now grown to be a firm pillars for the Maier Memorial Church Sunday school caters to the spiritual growth of children ranging from 3 years to 16 years.
